Amilkar Bhana tames CMR
Sunday 18th October –
Amilkar Bhana (Country Club Johannesburg) secured a comfortable 3 shot victory at the Bridge Fund Managers Junior Series (BFMJS) Tour event held at CMR Golf Club. The hot conditions, temperatures in the early 30s, did not deter Amilkar from playing truly outstanding golf. This was the 8th event in the current edition of the BFMJS Tour.
Amilkar was 3 under par after the first 9, this included 4 birdies and a lone drop at the par 4 2nd. Another 3 birdies coming home saw Amilkar end a commanding performance.
Hannes Strooh (Krugersdorp GC) finished 2nd with a 3 under par 69. This included 2 eagles – at the par 4 13th and the par 5 18th. Other notable scores at CMR Golf Club was Herman du Plessis on 71 and Jaden Deltel on a level par 72.
By winning the CMR leg Amilkar Bhana has qualified for the regional North finals of the BFMJS, where he will be playing for the opportunity to compete at Pinehurst in July 2021.
